Baldwin Wallace Names New Football Coach
James N. Hilvert, Jr. is departing LaSalle High School to come to BW.

BEREA, OH - The Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets have a new head football coach. James N. Hilvert, Jr. is leaving his head coaching post at LaSalle High School to come to Berea and coach B-W. He is the school's fourth head football coach since 1957.
Hilvert has an astonishing track record of success. He started his career at St. Thomas More College in Kentucky and put together a career record of 67-19 while there. He then transitioned to LaSalle and led them to back-to-back Division II titles.
He begins his tenure as B-W's head football coach on Jan. 23. The Yellow Jackets open their season on Sept. 2 when they travel to Defiance College.

“In BW, I found people and a program that fit my coaching philosophy,” Hilvert said on B-W's website. “BW has a rich football tradition and high expectations for success in the finest D3 league in the country. My goal is to win the OAC and shoot for a national championship.”
B-W had a rough 2016-2017 season, finishing 3-7, including a tough loss to rival John Carroll University. The team went 2-7 in the OAC.
