Criminal Justice Career Fair Coming To Berea
The free event will be held at Baldwin Wallace College on Oct. 2.

BEREA, OH — On Oct. 2, Baldwin Wallace College will host the Northeast Ohio Public Safety and Criminal Justice Job Fair. The free event is open to the public and will provide an opportunity for attendees to network with law enforcement organizations and apply for jobs.
Vendors at the event will be looking for candidates with a range of experiences — from the seasoned law enforcement veteran to the possible intern looking for a first gig. Skills being sought at the job fair include, though certainly aren't limited to: accounting, criminal justice, law and science.
"Monday's event is a tremendous opportunity for people with different backgrounds to come learn in person, one on one, about the numerous career opportunities in law enforcement, and ask questions to individuals that work everyday in our community," said Stephen D Anthony, special agent in charge, FBI Cleveland, in an email to Patch.

The job fair says there will be many other vendors at the event. (To stay up to date on local stories, subscribe to the Patch Berea-Middleburg Heights newsletter. One of the event organizers, Carol Gregory, associate professor of sociology at BW, told Patch this is the first year the college has held this event. She hopes it's the beginning of continued partnership between BW and the FBI.

"We’re not just looking for law enforcement officers. Some of these agencies have non-law enforcement positions in fields like accounting, natural sciences, law, business. Those fields are sought after. There’s also potential jobs that don’t require experience or specific degrees," Gregory said.
Gregory said she wants to make the event as inclusive as possible and was surprised by the distance some police departments were willing to travel to take part in the event.
'The job fair will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Center for Innovation and Growth, 340 Front St., Berea.
