Mislabeled Male Enhancement Pills Get North Olmsted Man Arrested
The man reportedly sole drugs, like "Herb Viagra," that failed to list their active ingredient and its possible side effects.

NORTH OLMSTED, OH — Police have arrested a North Olmsted man for selling misbranded drugs, law enforcement officials said. Khaled Farouk Elgayar, 50, has been charged in federal court for dealing drugs that purported to deal with erectile dysfunction.
Between January and October 2016, Elgayar reportedly dealt drugs that also "enhanced" sexual performance in men. The drugs had outlandish names, including “African Superman,” “Hard Ten Days,” “Herb Viagra,” “libigrow,” “S.W.A.G” and “Triple PowerZEN,” according to law enforcement.
The drugs reportedly contained an unlisted ingredient, sildenafil, the active-ingredient in FDA-approved erectile dysfunction medication. The labels of Elgayar's medication did not list sildenafil on the label.

Sildenafil can have serious side effects and can also have dangerous reactions to men with some pathological conditions. The undeclared drugs can also interact dangerously with other prescription and non-prescription medications. In a statement, the U.S. Attorney's office said the labels did not list any possible prescription medication interaction side effects.
“Disguising prescription drugs as harmless over-the-counter products can lead to serious consequences for unsuspecting buyers with dangerous underlying health conditions. It could also lead to dangerous interactions when combined with other drugs they may be taking,” said Special Agent in Charge Mark McCormack, FDA Office of Criminal Investigations, Metro Washington Field Office. “Our office will continue to pursue and bring to justice those who would endanger the public’s health in order to make a quick profit.”
