North Rocky River Drive Construction to Begin

The revitalization project is expected to begin in mid-May and continue for 60-90 days, drivers should expect delays.

North Rocky River Drive is a main artery for Berea and it is about to undergo resurfacing and necessary repairs. Around 16,000 motorists use it daily and that number is growing reports Cleveland.com.

The construction is scheduled to begin in May and last for two to three months according to Tony Armagno, Berea City Engineer.

The section of North Rocky River Drive between Karen Drive to Wesley Drive will be resurfaced. Other repairs and improvements include catch basin and man-hole repairs, the addition of handicapped accessible curb ramps and concrete repairs.

A Community Development Block Grant of $150,000 through the Cuyahoga County Department of Development is helping to fund the $400,000 project said Armagno.

This project is the second of possibly three phases. Repavement from Bagley to Karen Drive was phase one and phase three will entail resurfacing up to Front Street if funds are available.
