1,000 Job Openings Available At Polaris Career Fair

Job seekers who are on the hunt for the perfect job could very well find it in Middleburg Heights this month. More than 70 local employers looking to fill up to 1,000 positions will all be under one roof during the 2016 Polaris-Westshore Career Fair --which is scheduled for March 23--and many of the companies will be interviewing on the spot.

Employers from all over the Cleveland area will be present at the event. The new Hilton Cleveland Downtown hotel, which will be doing onsite interviews at the job fair, is said to be looking to fill more than 300 open positions alone before its June 1 grand opening.

Middleburg Heights-based Quadax, a healthcare billing firm, will also be present. The company recently purchased property near the I-71 on-ramp at Bagley Road, where it plans to expand. Quadax currently employs about 600 people, but according to spokesperson Jen Sprandel, the new facility and other growth will increase the company’s capacity to more than 1,000 employees.

Other companies scheduled to recruit at the career fair include Altenheim Senior Living, Catholic Charities, Chick-fil-A, the Cleveland MetroParks, Die-Matic Corp., FedEx, Giant Eagle, and Southwest General Hospital, among more than 60 others, including county and local government offices.

The career fair will feature jobs from a multitude of industries, including healthcare, sales, manufacturing, construction, and service. Trade apprenticeship opportunities will also be available.

In addition to job opportunities, attendees will be able to get information on career education programs--many of which are eligible for financial aid assistance.

Fair organizers recommend attendees be prepared to interview by dressing to impress in business attire and bringing along multiple copies of their resumes to give to potential employers.

The Polaris-Westshore Career Fair will be held at the Polaris Career Center on Old Oak Boulevard in Middleburg Heights on Wednesday, March 23 from 9 a.m. until noon. Advance registration is not required and admission is free.
