Southwest General Expanding Presence in Middleburg Heights
The hospital has signed a two-year lease for the Big Creek Surgery Center.

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH - Southwest General Hospital is set to lease the Big Creek Surgery Center, located on Bagley Road, effectively Jan. 1, 2017. The lease will expand the hospital's presence in the suburban city.
The hospital says the lease is for two-years and will allow the hospital to operate out of the Center.
“We have a long-standing relationship with many of the physicians associated with Big Creek Surgery Center. Through this arrangement, we will be able to work more collaboratively with physicians to provide our patients with additional options for their health care,” explains William A. Young, Jr., president and chief executive officer, Southwest General, in a statement. “This is yet another example of how Southwest General works with physicians to improve care delivery and enhance longstanding relations with the Medical Staff.”

Southwest General will continue to maintain its 20 percent ownership agreement, established in 2012.
“The concept behind the leasing agreement is to place hospital-related outpatient services in convenient, close-to-home locations for our patients,” said Young. “Health care reform has had an impact on how physicians and hospitals work together. Through the agreement, we will implement our strategic focus on the way we provide care to community members, while reducing costs to deliver care.”
