Southwest General Hospital Wins Lantern Awards

The award highlights Southwest General's commitment to caring for patients and ensuring the well-being of nurses.

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH — Southwest General's Main Campus and Brunswick Emergency Rooms are recipients of the 2020 Emergency Nurse Association's Lantern Award.

The Lantern Award is given to medical facilities that demonstrate "exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research." The award specifically highlights an emergency room's accomplishments in caring for patients.

“More so than ever before, patients are taking an active role in their health care needs as well as where they receive their care,” said William Young, Jr., president and CEO, Southwest General. “We are grateful to ENA for this distinguished honor and for the commitment and the work being done by both of our Emergency Rooms. We hope that patients, when making the choice of where to go for care, will use this as a guiding light.”
