University of Mount Union Graduates Inaugural Nursing Class

The students of the Nursing program graduated with their Bachelor of Science from University of Mount Union during the May ceremonies.

From The University of Mount Union: The University of Mount Union celebrated the graduation of its inaugural class of students in its Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program in May.

At Mount Union's Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 13, 14 students graduated with a BSN degrees. Megan Lavelle of Olmsted Falls, Ohio was one of the degree recipients.

These graduates completed the 130 credit hours required for the program as well as intensive one-on-one instruction led by our highly qualified faculty in both the classroom and in health care environments to receive their degree.

In addition to the Commencement ceremony on Saturday, students also participated in an inaugural pinning ceremony on Friday, May 12. At the ceremony, each student received a pin to commemorate their place amongst the inaugural class of nursing students.

Dr. Nezam Al-Nsair, professor and chair of the Department of Nursing, gave the welcoming address and the keynote address for the event was given by Barbara Brunt, the Former Director of Nursing Education and Staff Development for Summa Health System.
