Akron-Canton Airport Appoints New Director of Marketing
Lisa Davala has been promoted from Marketing Coordinator to Director of Marketing.

GREEN, OH - Akron-Canton Airport recently announced the promotion of Lisa Davala from Marketing Coordinator to Director of Marketing. Davala will be responsible for leading all strategic brand, marketing, communications, air service development, and public interaction initiatives.
Davala joined the CAK marketing team in 2014 as Marketing Coordinator. In a short time, she has increased community engagement and awareness, strengthened existing relationships and cultivated new relationships with airlines, building upon the CAK brand and increasing service and market awareness to the community.
“Lisa’s promotion to Director of Marketing is the direct result of her impressive growth and significant achievements at the Akron-Canton Airport,” said President and CEO Rick McQueen. “Her ability to quickly adapt to the dynamic industry environments of aviation and marketing, while keeping the CAK brand front and center sets us up for a strong future.”

Prior to joining the airport, Davala developed a background in online marketing, public relations and management through agency work, both traditional and digital. Davala holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Kent State University. She’s an active member of Torchbearers, CORE Young Professionals, ystark! and dedicates time volunteering with various causes and charities in Northeast Ohio.
Davala's promotion comes after Allegiant Airlines announced it was moving its operations from Akron-Canton Airport to Cleveland Hopkins, effective Feb. 15, 2017. At the time, Akron-Canton Airport said in an emailed statement that despite the loss of Allegiant, the airport was still expecting its daily seat capacity to increase in the second quarter of 2017. However, according to the airport's website, there has been a decrease in monthly passengers almost every month of this year, with the sole exception of February.

According to Akron-Canton's website, traffic in July alone was down 20.5% versus July 2015. The airport saw 118,153 passengers during that time. August traffic numbers are not yet published on the website.The airport released a $240 million, 20-year master plan in February. The plan includes LED light replacements, gate overhauls, redesign of the entrance road and more.
