Call for Nominations: Junior League Women of the Year Awards

Canton, Ohio, December 5, 2017 - Do you know an outstanding woman volunteer in our community? Each year, The Junior League of Stark County, Ohio, Inc. invites nominations for its annual Women of the Year Awards. This award began to celebrate the League’s 10th anniversary in 1947. This year’s honorees will be presented at the 71st annual Women of the Year Awards luncheon on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Kent State University at Stark.

We encourage you to submit the name of a volunteer whom you or your organization feels has contributed to the betterment of Stark County through her volunteer efforts. There are two award categories:

Community Award: Presented to a woman who is, or has been a valued volunteer in more than one organization and area of service.

President’s Award: Presented to a woman who has concentrated her volunteer efforts in and made a significant impact in one organization or area of service and has served in a leadership role.

The award recipients are chosen by a panel of community leaders and past award recipients. This year’s winners will join an elite group of women who have made a lasting impact on the Stark County community. Nomination forms are available online at http://jlstarkcounty.org/news/women-year/ or you may request a nomination form be mailed to you by calling the Junior League administrative office at (330) 491-4552. Mailed nomination packets, including two letters of recommendation, must be postmarked by Monday, January 22, 2018.
