Canton Arts District: Shop Local At 'First Friday' Dec.1

NORTH CANTON, OH -- The Canton Arts District is inviting community members and guests to shop local this Friday, Dec. 1 at its monthly "First Friday" event. Featuring music, performance and visual arts events, the event begins at 5:30 p.m. Patrons can enjoy live entertainment as they dine, shop and stroll through stores and galleries that will be participating as well by offering discounts and free gifts.

The Canton Palace Theatre is presenting "The Polar Express" at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, but tickets are required.Pick up tickets ahead of time at the Theatre Box Office.

Galleries, studios, restaurants to offer discounts

• Modern Ritual will be distributing $5 coupons for every $50 spent in gift certificates.
• Cantonology is having a 10% discount on all merchandise including classes and workshops along with numerous other deals.
• The Local will be offering various season discount by artists in the marketplace.
• Avenue Arts Marketplace & Theatre will give a $10 gift card to anyone who spends $100 or more.
• The Hub Art Factory is featuring 12, local artists whose work is centered around Krampus.
• The Canton Museum of Art will host a DIY holiday ornament event.
