Heart & Sole, which was designed by Girls on the Run International specifically for girls in 6th through 8th grade, helps girls build the life skills that they need, such as creating a support system, boundary-setting, emotional regulation, self-care, and overcoming obstacles and is accessible to ALL girls regardless of their athletic ability or fitness level.

Both programs wrap up with the noncompetitive Girls on the Run 5k Run/Walk on May 20 (in Stark County) and May 21 (in Wayne County). Completing the 5k gives the girls a tangible understanding of the confidence that comes through accomplishment, as well as a framework for setting & achieving life goals. Crossing the finish line is a defining moment when girls realize that even the seemingly impossible is possible.
