Meals on Wheels receives $25,000 grant towards new delivery trucks
Meals on Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties receives funding from the Austin-Bailey Health & Wellness Foundation
MASSILLON, OH – April 10, 2017 – Meals on Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties (MOW) is excited to announce it was awarded $25,000 from the Austin-Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation in support of its request for funding to support the purchase of two, new delivery trucks.
“Meals on Wheels is so grateful for the support of the foundation and the impact it will have on the agency,” said Ted Watko, CEO of Meals on Wheels of Stark & Wayne Counties. “We could not serve our mission without our delivery trucks, and we could not exist without the help of foundations like the Austin-Bailey Health and Wellness Foundation.”
Funds from the Austin-Bailey Foundation were combined with designated dollars from MOW’s past two Main Event fundraisers to support this purchase. These trucks make it possible for the agency to deliver nearly 1,400 meals per day throughout Stark & Wayne Counties, and they play an essential role in fulfilling MOW’s mission to provide nutritionally at-risk individuals with nutritional support for better health, happiness, and independence.
