Mercy Heart Center Host Free Cooking Demonstration

From Mercy Heart Center: Mercy Heart Center will be offering a FREE heart healthy Sweetheart Cooking Demonstration to the community on Valentine’s Day, Tuesday, February 14th in Mercy Hall Auditorium, 1320 Mercy Dr. NW, Canton, located behind the hospital’s main parking deck. Beginning at 12 noon, this program will teach participants how to make healthier versions of several food and dessert items.

The Sweetheart Cooking Demonstration will include a full cooking demonstration by Mercy’s executive chef, Nikki Mosiychuk, taste testing, recipes, a special give-a-way item and a presentation by Beth Matthews, MS, RD, CDE. Matthews is coordinator of Mercy Diabetes Education.

The taste testing portion will include healthier versions of the following recipes: Chicken and Vegetable Ribbons en Papillote (French for “in parchment”), Grilled Peaches with Honey Cream and Healthy Cauliflower Rice.Reservations are required for this community program as seating is limited.
