Arctic Cold Front Coming To Northeast Ohio
Freezing rain and more snow could fall in parts of the Buckeye State on Tuesday morning, before temperatures drop into the teens.
AKRON, OH — Freezing rain and sleet is expected to fall throughout much of Northeast Ohio on Tuesday. A winter weather advisory has been issued for the region by the National Weather Service (NWS). However, the weather could get even worse on Wednesday.
While Cuyahoga County is not part of the winter weather advisory, the NWS is predicting a burst of cold air will move across Canada and into Ohio on Tuesday night. The Arctic front could usher in lake effect snow and freezing temperatures.
Currently, a low pressure front is moving northeast through the Ohio Valley, causing mixed precipitation to fall across Northeast Ohio. The system will move east out of the area before the cold front arrives, the NWS predicts. Tuesday's winter weather advisory will be in place until 1 p.m.

"Mixed precipitation occurring including freezing rain," the NWS forecast for Tuesday morning and early afternoon. "Additional snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph."
Another 1 to 2 inches of snow could fall between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, based on current forecasts. Temperatures in Northeast Ohio will drop into the low 20s and teens as the Arctic cold front rolls into the region.
