COVID-19 In Solon Schools: 1 Student, 1 Staffer Test Positive
The district said it has kept its COVID-19 case totals low through strict adherence to health policies.
SOLON, OH — At least one Solon student and staffer have tested positive for COVID-19, the district reported.
Per state order, all public schools in Ohio must maintain dashboard tracking active COVID-19 cases in the district. Solon's dashboard was updated on Friday and shows one on-campus student and one staffer have contracted the virus.
For the week of Nov. 4, one student tested positive for COVID-19 and 16 students were asked to quarantine.

In late October, Solon administrators said state COVID-19 data shows the virus is spreading through informal gatherings — not schools.
"Our overall cases among students and staff continues to remain low. We are confident this is because of the strict adherence to the public health protocols that are proven to slow the spread of COVID-19, such as masks, distancing, barriers and hand hygiene. This can change at any time," the district said in a letter to families.
