Drunken Man Litters Solon Parking Lot With Beer Cans

Police said an off-duty officer found a man throwing empty beer cans out of his car this month.

SOLON, OH — An off-duty Solon cop noticed a man sitting in a running car, surrounded by empty beer cans and other trash, at Market District this month. The man was eventually taken into custody for littering, open container, prohibited BAC and physical control of a motor vehicle.

A little before 2 a.m. on November 7, an off-duty police officer was heading to Market District for a security job. When he arrived in the parking lot, he saw a car with its headlights on and engine running, surrounded by litter, including drained beer cans.

The officer spoke with the driver and determined he was impaired, police said. The driver, a 54-year-old from Bentleyville, said he had been drinking and admitted to throwing the cans out of his car window.
