Labor Law Enforcement Meeting To Be Held In August

The Solon Mustard Seed will play host to a speaker from the Department of Labor.

SOLON, OH - From the Western Reserve Safety Council: WRSC August Program: Audits, Stats and Fatalities - OSHA Enforcement Update and Basic Review of OSHA Record Keeping Solon, Ohio, July 13, 2017 – Western Reserve Safety Council announces the next monthly program Audits, Stats and Fatalities - OSHA Enforcement Update on Wednesday, August 2, 11:30 a.m. at Mustard Seed Market & Café, Solon. Speaker, Julie Weiss, OSHA, Department of Labor, will cover OSHA inspection statistics and results, review recent significant OSHA enforcement actions, explore results from a study of OSHA fatality inspections and present OSHA’s enforcement plans and initiatives for the upcoming year.

A bonus program will follow immediately afterwards Basic Review of OSHA Record Keeping with speaker Scott Turner from the Ohio BWC. This is an optional opportunity to earn external credit for Ohio BWC Safety Council members and learn recording and reporting requirements for occupational injuries and illnesses.

Check-in begins at 11:15 a.m. and the program begins at 11:45 a.m. Program fee is $25 for WRSC members and $27 for non-members and is open to the public. To register go to www.westernreservesc.org or call 440-248-5080.

The WRSC, which is open to all area businesses, not-for-profits and government entities, was established in February 2014. The mission of the safety council is to provide a forum for the presentation of health and safety issues and exchange ideas and concepts for best practices in the workplace with an emphasis on regulatory compliance.
