More Than 400 Solon Students Named AP Scholars

Many of the students will qualify for college credit based on their performance on AP exams.

SOLON, OH — More than 400 Solon students have been named AP Scholars this year.

On Monday, the district announced that 442 Solon High students have received AP Scholar status. The designation is received for outstanding performance on Advanced Placement program exams.

“We are proud of our students’ efforts as they continue to challenge themselves through the varied AP offerings at Solon High School,” said Erin Short, SHS principal. “These AP recognitions reflect the hard work and dedication of everyone at Solon High School to create an atmosphere of academic excellence.”

In 2020, 827 Solon High students took 1,788 AP exams. The overall results included 545 scores of 5 (the highest possible score), 529 scores of 4 and 460 scores of 3. Scores of 3 and above typically qualify for college credit.
