Northeast Ohio Man Threatened Police Officers, FBI Says

The 27-year-old Northeast Ohio man is accused of threatening to throw Molotov cocktails in Little Italy, according to a federal complaint.

BEDFORD HEIGHTS, OH — A Bedford Heights man has been accused of threatening to hurt police officers and Clevelanders in the city's Little Italy neighborhood, the FBI announced.

Mustafah Omar Hawkins, 27, of Bedford Heights, is accused of interstate threatening communications, the FBI said. He was taken into custody on Friday evening.

Hawkins used a Facebook profile called "Majic Jordan" to post on social media, authorities allege. According to the complaint filed against Hawkins, on May 31, 2020, he wrote, “We finna start smoking y’all [racial slur] when we see y’all killing [racial slur] and y’all supposed to be the police. Mark my words the change is here.”

A day later, the complaint said, he posted, “….Y’all wanna get shot I see." Then, on June 2, he made references to getting a flash mob together and throwing Molotov cocktails, the complaint said.

The Cleveland division of the FBI took Hawkins into custody on June 5. He made his first appearance in court on Monday afternoon.
