Solon Football Holds No. 5 Ranking In Region

The Comets have held steady at No. 5 for two weeks.

SOLON, OH — Another week, another win, but the same ranking for the Solon Comets football team. The squad improved to 7-2 on Friday, but remains the No. 5 ranked team in Division I, Region I football, according to the Ohio High School Sports Athletic Association's computer rankings.

Solon defeated Strongsville High on Friday, beating the Mustangs 33-22. The Comets will now go on the road to face Elyria in the final week of the regular season.

As with all late-season match-ups, there's plenty at stake. A loss could push Solon out of the playoff bracket, a win could position the Comets for a deep postseason run.
