SOLON, OH — Solon's Taj Ward signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, becoming the first Comet to sign under the NCAA's new early signing day. Ward, a three-year starter for the Comets football team, will continue his athletic and academic career at the University of Cincinnati.

Ward was a 2017 team captain for the football team, where he played both corner and wide receiver. He received offers from Kentucky, Iowa State and Toledo, but decided to stay in-state.

Ward thanked his family and teammates for their support. He also thanks his coaches for seeing his potential "even before he recognized it himself."
