Solon Football Starts Season At Aurora On Friday

The Comets first home game will be August 31 against Twinsburg.

SOLON, OH — The Solon High football team will play its first game of the season on Friday, hitting the road to take on Aurora High. The team's first home game will be August 31 against Twinsburg.

Solon has opened its season against Aurora for three straight years. The Comets have won each game in the series. The two teams have played each other 18 times and Solon has dominated the series: holding a record of 15-3 all-time.

Last year's season opener against Aurora was a down-to-the-wire affair, with Solon just eking out a victory 15-14. Comet fans will be hoping for a less stressful start to the season this year.
