Solon High Football Looking For 1st October Win
The Comets have lost two dramatic games so far this month. They're looking to rebound against Shaker Heights.

SOLON, OH — The Solon High School football team is on a poorly time losing streak. The Comets have dropped their last two games in heartbreaking fashion, losing 33-28 to Euclid and then 38-34 to Mentor. The team will look to rebound against Shaker Heights Oct. 21.
The Comets have tumbled down the Division I, Region 1 OHSAA computer rankings. The team is now ranked 9 in the region, with a record of 5-3.
There are two games left on the regular season. The Comets will look to push their record to 7-3 against Shaker Heights and then, on Oct. 27, against Medina. Shaker Heights is currently 4-4 and coming off a dramatic loss against Strongsville High School. The Red Raiders lost that match-up 39-35. They'll be looking to end the season on the winning side of the ledger.
Medina, meanwhile, is 3-5 on the season but demolished Elyria in its last game, 41-14.

According to the Solon Comets Week 9 football notes, the program is looking for its 46th October win since 2003. The team has a winning percentage of .726 in Halloween's host month. The team has dropped its two games in October so far this year, and will look to rebound this upcoming weeks.
