Solon Holds Steady In Latest Football Rankings
The Comets head coach tallied a major accomplishment after last Friday's game.

SOLON, OH — The Solon Comets are still the seventh best football team in Division I, Region I, according to the latest iteration of OHSAA's computer rankings. The team defeated Strongsville, 28-14, on Friday to move to 4-1 on the season.
The victory over Strongsville was a particularly memorable one for Solon Head Coach Jim McQuaide. The 28-14 victory represents McQuaide's 200th career victory, a major accomplishment.

McQuaide has spent 15 years on the sidelines for Solon. During that time, he's racked up an impressive resume.

The top of the rankings are dominated by the three remaining undefeated teams in the region. Stow-Munroe Falls, the team previously ranked third, lost its first game of the season on Friday, dropping the Bulldogs to fifth. St. Ed's trails rival St. Ignatius (1) and Canton McKinley (2) in the rankings. All three teams are 5-0.
