Solon Named 2nd Best Greater Cleveland Suburb

SOLON, OH — Solon is Greater Cleveland's second best suburb to call home, according to new rankings from Niche.

Solon earned an overall grade of "A+" and topped other cities, including Pepper Pike, Bay Village, Westlake and others. Only Shaker Height was ranked ahead of Solon.

The rankings were determined by using data from the U.S. Census Bureau, FBI, CDC and other agencies, combined with reviews from people that live in the area.

The rankings consider a variety of topics to determine a town or city's standing, including affordability, local housing market, neighborhood diversity, local public schools and walkability, to name a few.

• Good for families — A+
• Nightlife — B+
• Diversity — A-
• Crime and safety — B

Greater Cleveland's top 10 suburbs, according to Niche, are:

• Solon
• Pepper Pike
• Bay Village
• Orange
• Hudson
• Moreland Hills
• Rocky River
• Glenwillow
• Bainbridge

Nationally, Niche's research found that Chesterbrook, PA was the best place to live in America, while The Woodlands, TX earned top honors in the Best Cities to Live in America rankings.
