Solon Police Food Drive Moves Virtual
To protect residents, police are gathering donations online instead of in-person.
SOLON, OH — The Solon Police Department's food drive has gone virtual.
Due to Cuyahoga County's stay-at-home advisory, police decided to move their food drive online. Northeast Ohioans can now donate to the food drive through the Greater Cleveland Food Bank website.
"Our virtual food drive to benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank is up and running! Please consider donating by clicking the link below. Thank you for helping us help those in need," Detective Lieutenant Jamey Hoffman said.

The food drive has raised $565 as of Friday morning.

Patch has teamed with Feeding America to help raise awareness on behalf of the millions of Americans facing hunger. Feeding America, which supports 200 food banks across the country, estimates that in 2020, more than 50 million Americans will not have enough nutritious food to eat due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. This is a Patch social good project; Feeding America receives 100 percent of donations. Find out how you can donate in your community or find a food pantry near you.
