Solon Police Warn Residents of Possible Flooding

The flooding should subside a little after 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.

SOLON, OH - The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for Cuyahoga County. The warning will expire at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, unless conditions change.

Solon Police said there are not currently any issues in the community, but residents should be aware of the warning be cautious while driving.

The NWS reminds drivers that you should never drive your car through a flooded area. The water can be much deeper than it appears and you don't want to get trapped.

The following cities could experience flooding, the NWS said:

  • Cleveland,
  • Painesville,
  • Ashtabula,
  • Willowick,
  • Conneaut,
  • Chardon,
  • Jefferson,
  • Fairport Harbor,
  • Geneva-On-The-Lake,
  • Parma,
  • Lakewood,
  • Euclid,
  • Mentor,
  • Cleveland Heights,
  • Strongsville,
  • Westlake,
  • North Royalton,
  • Solon,
  • Willoughby;
  • and Eastlake.

The NWS said the following rivers are at risk of flooding:
