Solon Pools Free Over Weekend Due To Extreme Heat

With extreme heat indexes set to grip Northeast Ohio, Solon is opening its pools up to residents.

SOLON, OH — The Solon Community Center Pool and the Municipal Pool will both be free over the weekend for residents. The city is encouraging the use of the pool during the weekend's extreme heat wave.

An excessive heat watch is in place for much of Ohio on Friday and Saturday, with heat index values expected to consistently be around 105 degrees. Heat indexes represent what temperatures will feel like to people outside — meaning they account for both temperatures and humidity.

Residents will be able to make use of the two pools throughout the weekend to cool off. The Community Center pool is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. The Municipal Pool is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
