Solon Schools Closed Tuesday Due To Winter Weather

SOLON, OH — The Solon Schools are closed Tuesday due to winter weather.

The district urged families to stay safe. A winter storm warning is in effect in Cuyahoga County, and much of northern Ohio.

Between 8 and 12 inches of snow fell between Monday night and Tuesday morning in northern Ohio, the National Weather Service said. Winds of up to 40 mph will sweep through the region, making travel particularly hazardous.

"Travel will become very difficult. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute on Tuesday," the National Weather Service said.

Wind chills will make it feel nearly 0 degrees outside, forecasters said.

"If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency," the National Weather Service said.
