Solon Students Land Podcast Interview With Mayor Kraus

SOLON, OH — Two Solon students have launched their own podcast. They have already landed interviews with Solon Mayor Ed Kraus and other notable guests.

Solon High students Dev Ahuja and Vikram Sundaram launched the Disquisition podcast in May. The podcast is now available on major platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

"Dev and I have always wanted to make a podcast, but when we realized that COVID-19 was going to close down schools for the rest of the year, we thought this was the perfect opportunity to actually fulfill these desires," Sundaram said.

The interview with Kraus covered a wide-range of hot-button topics, including COVID-19, protests and rallies, wearing masks and how reopening can be safely handled. Both Ahuja and Sundaram said they want to cover prescient issues during all their interviews.

"We decided to steer the podcast from a purely informational one to one more about interviewing people with influential information, like the mayor of Solon, who we thought could let us know what's going on with the city. That's the goal — convey information and help others," Ahuja told Patch.

Besides Kraus, the duo have interviewed the National Speech and Debate Association's 2020 National Tournament champion in United States Extemporaneous Speaking.

"When looking to the future, we see ourselves as being an interview based podcast, informing and entertaining more and more every week," Sundaram said.
