Suspects In Robbery, Car Chase Identified By Solon Police

Police said three people robbed a person outside a Solon business before leading officers on a car chase this week in Solon.

SOLON, OH — Solon police have identified the three people accused of robbing a man on Aurora Road, leading police on a car chase and then crashing on I-480. All three suspects face charges for robbery, kidnapping and fleeing and eluding police.

The three suspects are Edwonte Bryant, 25, Charlotte Thomas, 20, and Taikia McCants, 24. Bryant is from Cleveland Heights, Thomas and McCants are from Cleveland.

According to police, at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a man and a woman, with a handgun, approached a man sitting in a car outside a Solon business on Aurora Road. The pair demanded the man's cell phone and wallet and then got into a blue sedan and drove off, according to police.

Solon police searched the area for the car and spotted it on US-422 west. Police put on their overhead lights, but the car sped up, starting a car chase, according to police reports.

The pursuit continued onto I-480 west, where the suspects' car hit a concrete median near the Miles Road overpass. The car broke down after the collision and three people were then taken into custody, police said.

Officers found two loaded guns inside the car, police added.
