Woman's Ex-Boyfriend Harasses Her In Solon

Police said the man went to a home in Solon and damaged the woman's car and a porch light on a house on Copley Avenue.

SOLON, OH — A 36-year-old man was taken into custody after he showed up in Solon and damaged a porch light at a house on Copley Avenue. Police said the man was angry because his ex-girlfriend was visiting a man at the home.

At 7 a.m., police were called to the 6000 block of Copley for reports of a man with a "big gun" harassing a resident. The suspect was wearing a black hoodie and was hanging out near the resident's front door, police were told.

When officers arrived, they saw a man walking away from the house. He was ordered to the ground and detained, police said.

The resident said the man was pounding on his front door and was angry because his ex-girlfriend was inside the house. The suspect then damaged a porch light at the home.

Officers searched the suspect but found no gun. He was taken into custody and was brought to Solon Jail. He faces charges for aggravated trespassing and criminal damaging, police said.

Police did discover the man had damaged a car parked in the driveway of the Copley Avenue home. The vehicle belonged to the ex-girlfriend, police said.
