5 Things to Know in Strongsville This Week

A look at the days ahead

1. Strongsville goes tobacco free — Starting Oct. 1, smoking or using any tobacco products will be prohibited on any city-owned property, including in the parks and parking lots.

2. Meet the candidates — Strongsville Women's League will host Candidates Night at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center.

3. Rubber stampers and scrapbookers — Will have an event Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Ehrnfelt Recreation Center featuring shopping, exhibits, demonstrations, make and takes, door prizes and dream basket raffle. 

4. Health Fair — St. Joseph Church will have its fifth annual health fair Sunday, oct. 6 at the church, 12700 Pearl Rd., with blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, bone density testing, plus experts on health, nutrition and fitness.

5. Vote by mail starts Oct. 1 — You must apply for a ballot this year; the Board of Elections will not mail them out unless requested. Apply online at  www.443vote.com, or call 216-443-VOTE. Applications are also available at the Strongsville Library.
