8-Year-Old's Death In Strongsville Ruled Accidental

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner ruled the child's death was accidental.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — An 8-year-old boy's death in Strongsville was ruled accidental on Thursday, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner announced.

Christopher Johnson, 8, was found dead at the Holiday Inn pool on Monday, police reported. Investigators briefly said Johnson was missing Monday before they found his body at the hotel.

On Thursday, the medical examiner ruled Johnson's death was accidental. The 8-year-old died by drowning, the medical examiner confirmed.

Strongsville police expressed their sympathies to Johnson's family on social media.

"Please extend your thoughts and prayers to his family," the department said on Tuesday.
