Car Chase Starts In Strongsville, Ends In Crash in Cleveland

Strongsville police chased a stolen car into Cleveland on early Friday.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — A car chase that started in Strongsville ended with a crash in Cleveland.

Officers spotted a stolen car and chased the driver into Cleveland on early Friday. As the chase continued out of the city and onto I-71, the Ohio State Highway Patrol joined the pursuit.

During the chase, the stolen car rammed a Highway Patrol cruiser in an attempt to escape, Fox 8 reported.

The stolen car crashed into a pole near W. 56th and Denison Avenue, a Cleveland police spokesperson said.

The crash knocked down some wires, but multiple suspects were taken safely into custody. No one was hurt during the pursuit, the spokesperson said.

The Highway Patrol cruiser suffered only minor damage, according to reports.
