Coronavirus: How Giant Eagle Will Limit Customers Inside Stores

One of Ohio's largest grocery chains will begin restricting the number of shoppers in its stores at any one time.

CLEVELAND — Giant Eagle announced this week it will begin limiting the number of customers permitted in its stores. That limit will be 50 percent of occupancy allowed by the fire code, and that includes store employees.

Giant Eagle will place the maximum occupancy for specific stores at the store's entrance.

The company also plans to shift to using every other register lane when possible.
