Discount Drug Mart Opening 2nd Store In Strongsville
A standalone Discount Drug Mart will open on Pearl Road in 2021, a company official said.
STRONGSVILLE, OH — Discount Drug Mart is building a new standalone store in Strongsville, the company confirmed.
The nearly 28,000 square foot store will be on Pearl Road, in front of the Lowe's. The store will have its own pharmacy, home healthcare services, deli and other features, said Steve Ferris, the public affairs director for Discount Drug Mart.
"We felt the time was right to open a second store," Ferris said. "The residents of Strongsville have embraced us and the city has been a great partner."

The company will break ground on the project this fall, Ferris said. Barring any delays, the new Discount Drug Mart should open in spring 2021.
When the store opens, it will employ between 35 and 40 full-time workers. Staff positions will also be offered to local high schoolers, Ferris said.

Discount Drug Mart currently has a store at the corner of Royalton and Prospect.
Strongsville city officials said they are seeing a boom of new business on the city's north end, including this Discount Drug Mart project. Arby's, Burger King, Starbucks and Culver's have all either announced plans for new stores in the area, or already opened locations.
