Dispose Of Hazardous Household Waste In Strongsville In May

Strongsville's first hazardous household waste collection of 2021 will be held May 4-6.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Strongsville will hold a hazardous waste collection event May 4-6.

Residents can drop off household products at the Strongsville Service Center, 16099 Foltz Pkwy., from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on those days. This is the first household hazardous waste collection event of 2021.

Latex paint is one of the few materials that will not be accepted during the event. Residents who need to dispose of latex paint should dry the paint (leave the lid off or mix it with kitty litter), and leave it out with regular trash. Keep the lid removed when it is placed out for collection.

Residents can dispose of the following materials during the three-day event: oil or solvent-based paint (no latex paint), varnish, mineral spirits, caustic household cleaners, adhesives, gasoline, sealers, polyurethane, herbicides, automotive fluids, roof tar, lighter fluid, primers and coatings, shellac, pesticides, motor oil, driveway sealer, mercury, paint thinner, turpentine, fungicides, car batteries and kerosene.
