Work should begin this week. Columbia Gas has contracted with Miller Pipeline for the project. Workers will start by installing the new main line before proceeding to service lines for individual properties. Some gas meters may be relocated as part of the construction.

Natural gas service will only be briefly interrupted for customers. Workers will contact affected customers to schedule the brief shut-off and relight appointments, Columbia Gas said.

All employees and contractors will carry identification cards with their names and photographs, and will show those cards if requested. Crews will also follow all COVID-19 health protocols, the company said.

Columbia Gas said there will be no additional charge for customers because of the project, and impacted properties will be restored.
