Hobby Lobby To Open Strongsville Store In 2020
Hobby Lobby aims to open its Strongsville store in late August.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — Hobby Lobby intends to open its new Strongsville store in August, the company announced Wednesday.
The store will take up the former Pat Catan's site, which shuttered in 2019. Hobby Lobby will employ between 35 and 50 full-tie staff, at $10.45 an hour part-time workers and $15.70 for full-time workers. Construction on the site has already begun.
The Hobby Lobby building will be approximately 46,000 square feet. The store will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Hobby Lobby locations are closed on Sundays.

“Once you visit Hobby Lobby, you will see that we are very unique, offering the widest variety of merchandise in the craft and home decor market under one roof,” said Kelly Black, director of advertising for Hobby Lobby. “We’re tremendously excited about becoming a part of the Strongsville community.”
Hobby Lobby first applied for a building permit for the Pat Catan's site in December 2019. The former Pat Catan's Strongsville location is on Pearl Road, just south of Royalton Road, in the Aldi plaza.

The nearest Hobby Lobby stores are in Medina and Macedonia. There are nearly 40 Hobby Lobby shops in Ohio.
Pat Catan's had 36 stores in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan and West Virginia. The Michaels Companies purchased Pat Catan's parent company in 2016 for $150 million. Chuck Rubin, chairman and CEO of The Michaels Companies, said the decision to shutter the Pat Catan's brand came after a comprehensive review.
