More Than 300 Strongsville Homes Without Power After Storm

STRONGSVILLE, OH — More than 80,000 northern Ohioans were without power when they woke Friday morning, including more than 300 homes in Strongsville.

Powerful winds blew through much of northern Ohio on Thursday night and Friday morning, with wind gusts hitting 60 mph. The winds took down tree branches and power lines, leaving many homes in the dark.

FirstEnergy estimates that at least 310 customers in Strongsville are in the dark as of Friday morning.

There is no estimate for when power will be restored because of how widespread the outages are. Crews have not yet been dispatched to many of the Strongsville outages.

A high wind warning remains in effect for Cuyahoga County and Lorain County through at least 12 p.m., the National Weather Service said. Temperatures will drop into the low 50s and high 40s and there's a small chance of rain throughout Friday.
