ODOT May Add Lane To I-71 In Strongsville
The project could help alleviate backup on the highway, ODOT said.

STRONGSVILLE, OH — An auxiliary lane outside of I-71 south, between the Ohio Turnpike and SR 82, could be added in Strongsville. Before the project goes forward, the Ohio Department of Transportation wants to know what the public thinks.
The proposed project would include minor improvements to the SR 82 exit ramp, which would need to accommodate the new auxiliary lane, ODOT said. While the project goes over the Rocky River Reservation, there would be no impact to the park or related facilities, ODOT said.
"Currently, I-71 southbound traffic headed to SR 82 creates a back-up on the I-71 mainline at peak travel times. The addition of the auxiliary lane will provide improved lane assignment and reduce congestion in the I-71 southbound through lanes, reducing the likelihood of crashes in this area," ODOT said in a press release.
