Old Farmer's Almanac Winter 2019 Forecast For Ohio
Will there be several feet of snow or a mild winter? The Old Farmer's Almanac has issued its prediction for the upcoming Ohio winter.

Ohioans can look forward to a warmer-than-normal winter this year — at least if you believe predictions from the Old Farmer's Almanac.
"This winter, we expect to see above-normal temperatures almost everywhere in the United States, except in the Southwest, where we're predicting a colder-than-normal season," the almanac said.
The northern half of Ohio won't break from the Old Farmer's Almanac's prediction. Northern Ohio will avoid a deep freeze, and while it'll snow some, some of that precipitation won't be frozen.

"Our milder-than-normal forecast is due to a decrease in solar activity and the expected arrival of a weak El Niño, which will prevent cold air masses from lingering in the North," the almanac said.
Here is what the almanac specifically expects for the northern half of Ohio:

- Expect a warmer, rainier winter than normal. Snowfall should hit seasonal average.
- The coldest parts of the winter will be mid- and late December, early and late January, and early February. Snow will fall heaviest in early December, early and late January, early February, and mid-March.
- The spring months of April and May should be warmer than normal.
- Next summer will be cooler and drier than average, with heat spiking in late May, late June, early July, and mid-August.
