Pearl Road-Route 82 Intersection Construction Shifts
Drivers will want to avoid the area, if possible, as construction in Strongsville moves to a new phase.
STRONGSVILLE, OH — Construction on the intersection of Route 82 and Pearl Road will impact traffic lights in the area, the police department announced. Crews are trying to make the intersection friendlier and safer for pedestrians and motorists.
Traffic lights at the intersections will operate differently, police said. Drivers should approach the area with caution as construction shifts to a new phase.
"The next phase will primarily concentrate on the west side of the intersection. The work zone will be moved on Friday. Pearl Road will not have any lane restrictions during this phase, which will last until mid-October. We appreciate everyone's patience during this project," police said on Facebook.

In April, city officials said they wanted to beautify the Rt. 82-Pearl intersection and make it easier for pedestrians to cross. The project will include the addition of ADA-compliant curb ramps, refuge islands and pedestrian signals to help walkers cross the intersection. Traffic signals will be hung on mast arms and drainage around the intersection will be improved, officials said on the city website.
