Phase II Town Center Construction Starts In Strongsville
Westwood Drive will be completely closed during this phase of the project, the city said.
STRONGSVILLE, OH — Strongsville's Town Center project entered Phase 2 construction on Monday. Crews are upgrading crosswalks and signals at the corner of Pearl and Westwood, as officials hope to improve the pedestrian aspects of Strongsville.
Traffic will be maintained on Pearl, the city said. Drivers will still be able to enter and exit driveways, though delays are likely and some lanes of traffic may be closed.
Westwood Drive will be closed completely just west of Pearl, near Don's Pomeroy House, the city said. The portion of Westwood that leads to the police station will remain open. Drivers will be detoured to Progress Drive to Alameda Drive to Westwood, Prospect and Royalton Road.

Construction during Phase 2 should last about two weeks, the city said. As with all construction projects, the timeline is weather dependent.
The first phase of this project was finished in March after crews replaced the crosswalks in front of Strongsville Middle School. Phase 3 of the project will be the biggest, most involved phase. During Phase 3, crews will build new crosswalks, new mast arms for traffic signals, new pedestrian islands and a new concrete median near Pearl and Royalton.
