Police Find Meth Lab in Brunswick Man's Home, Bomb Squad Called

Man's parole officer suspected meth lab inside his Brunswick home, called police to investigate

BRUNSWICK, Ohio: A Brunswick man was arrested by police Wednesday after his parole officer suspected he was manufacturing methamphetamine inside his home, a report from Fox 8 said.

Suspect Jason Cubic was taken into custody on a parole violation, but charges for the meth lab are still pending.

Brunswick Police said they visited the home on Rockylyn Drive after receiving a call from the parole officer, who was visiting Cubic for a routine visit to check on him. The Medway Drug Enforcement Agency and Bureau of Criminal Investigation were also called in, according to Fox 8.

Agents searched Cubic's residence and found chemicals and devices consistent in meth manufacturing, including several pressurized containers that concerned agents. The local bomb squad was called to assist in the disposal of some of the items due to concerns that they could potentially explode. The cleanup is said to have taken more than six hours to complete.

Evidence removed from the home will be tested by BCI's crime labs and the state fire marshal so that Cubic can be properly processed and charged.
