Royalton Road Bridge Construction To Finish Wednesday
Strongsville said on social media on Tuesday that crews will work through the night and into Wednesday morning.
STRONGSVILLE, OH — Construction on the Royalton Road Bridge over I-71 will continue through Tuesday night and into Monday morning, the city announced. Drivers will want to avoid the area if they can.
Work on the project is being handled by crews from Strongsville (not the Ohio Department of Transportation). There will be no direct work on the bridge itself, the city said on social media.
Crews will be repairing the expansion joints between the bridge and non-bridge sections of Royalton Road. Those joints must remain flexible to allow for movement of the structure, since changes in weather cause expansion and contraction of the concrete.

While the road will remain open to traffic, there could be lane restrictions put in place during construction. The city expects construction to be finished Wednesday morning, but work may disrupt the morning rush hour.
