Strongsville Considers Roundabout On Shurmer-Howe Intersection
The city thinks a roundabout might alleviate the traffic congestion in the area. What do you think?

STRONGSVILLE, OH — The city is considering adding a roundabout to the intersection of Shurmer and Howe roads, to help with traffic congestion.
In a recent municipal newsletter, city officials said an engineering firm is drawing up plans for the possible roundabout. However, the project is purely speculative at this point and no decisions have yet been made.
Traffic on Howe Road can be nasty during rush hour and the city thinks a roundabout may help keep vehicles moving onto Shurmer. Currently, there is a traffic signal where cars must wait several minutes before turning onto Howe.

"With the roundabout, all traffic on Shurmer would bear right at Howe, with southbound traffic making a simple right turn and northbound vehicles traveling around the circle. It would have only one lane, so there would be no confusion about entering or exiting, and Howe Road traffic would keep moving without being stopped at a traffic light," the city said in its monthly newsletter.

A decision should be made on the roundabout early this year.
