Strongsville Schools Return To In-Person Education

STRONGSVILLE, OH — The Strongsville Schools returned full-time to in-person education this week.

All students in the district, PreK to 12th grade, are now in school buildings weekly.

Gov. Mike DeWine agreed to release the COVID-19 vaccine to school teachers and staff only if their districts agreed to reopen, in some form, by March 1. With the new, in-person model implemented, Strongsville teachers and staff are eligible to receive the vaccine, a district spokesperson told Patch.

"We are striving to best meet the educational needs of all students, combined with maintaining a safe learning environment. We will continue to take every necessary health and safety precaution to help mitigate the inherent risks during this pandemic," the district said in a message to the community.

There will continue to be online-only education offered to families who select that model, the district said.

The district also said it would remain flexible based on COVID-19 spread locally and statewide.

According to the Strongsville Schools COVID-19 dashboard, 20 students and staff have been isolated due to COVID-19.
